It is currently estimated that there are about 773 million people in the world who are not able to read or write. So, audio/visual resources are a huge help in enabling such people to have access to Christian resources, including to God’s Word.

Global Recordings Network

The recordings of GRN (formally known as Good News Media) in many local languages, aided by their very colourful flipchart pictures, has opened up the Bible for the many who are still unable to read. In the early years the recordings could be heard via hand driven tape players! But now things have moved on to new technologies, such as solar powered MP3 players.

Our relationship with GRN in South Africa goes back over a considerable years after we started looking for recordings of the Scriptures for the Cisena speaking people. So, with the help of our team that we had at that time, we were able to arrange the translations and recordings of the Look Listen and Learn series and other resources from GRN.

These were faithfully recorded with the help of local Cisena speakers and careful edited by Dalene Joubert of GRN. Do please take a look at the GRN website which has recordings in many languages.

Bible commentaries

This is another organization with whom we have recently started working.

OneHundredFold is working to place recordings of the Bible and other resources onto SD cards. In this they are making to make very good use of the extraordinary number of the mobile devices that exist in the world to enable God’s Word to reach even greater numbers of people.

We are looking forward to distributing the SD cards that OneHundreFold produces. The beauty of SD cards means that people don’t need access to the internet to open up the resources they contain.
